Once you’re designated, you can offer jobs to eligible candidates.

The Rural and Francophone Community Immigration Pilots don’t match candidates with jobs. You may find a candidate on your own, or a candidate may approach you.

Hire a Candidate

Once you’ve offered a job to a candidate, you need to complete a recommendation application and send it to the community.

The recommendation application requires you to

• show that you haven’t been able to fill the job with someone locally,
• show that the job offer meets the pilot requirements
• confirm that the candidate meets all of the requirements for the pilot
• commit to connecting your candidate with immigrant settlement services in your community.

You don’t need a labour market impact assessment.

Submit a Recommendation for your Community

Candidates who meet the requirements to apply for permanent residence may be eligible to apply for a temporary work permit.

This work permit lets your candidate begin working while their permanent residence application is being processed.

The work permit :

• is only for these pilots
• is valid for 2 years
• is employer-specific, meaning the candidate can only work for you
