The town of White River is a small but progressive community actively pursuing new opportunities for economic and population growth. It is located approximately 310 km West of Sault Ste. Marie and 380 km East of Thunder Bay. The Trans Canada Highway runs directly through the town.

The community takes great pride in being the place where Winnie-the-Pooh came from. Visitors from all over travel to attend the town’s annual Winnie-the-Pooh Festival.
