Chapleau

The town of Chapleau is a Northern Ontario community located within the Boreal Forest Region and the Arctic Watershed.The junction of Provincial Highways 101 and 129 is just South of the community. The City of Timmins is 200 km to the East on Highway 101 and Wawa is 140 km to the West. The community is located within easy access of the United States border crossing at Sault Ste. Marie, 245 km South. The main employers include Tembec and the Canadian Pacific Railway (C.P.R.). The town is traversed by the transcontinental rail line of CP Rail. 

Chapleau is the gateway to the largest Crown game preserve in the world – The Chapleau Crown Game Preserve. The community is located in the heart of some of the most outstanding areas for outdoor recreation in the province.
