The Superior East Community Development Fund is available to First Nations, municipalities, economic development corporations or other non-profit community organizations in the Superior East region. The fund can provide up to $2,000 in non-repayable contributions to community projects that will have an economic impact on the region. The Manager sits as a resource to this committee. The group continues to deal with issues surrounding operations of the municipalities, lobbying politicians, water conservation areas and other issues dealing with economic development are discussed.

Youth Enterprise Camp:
Every year a Youth Enterprise Camp is offered in the region for youth between the ages of 9 – 13. The camp introduces youth to the values, attitudes, qualities and skills needed to be successful in today’s economy. Campers will develop entrepreneurial and financial awareness, confidence, teamwork and communication skills. Community Futures Development Corporations throughout the Algoma-Manitoulin region, Head Start in Business, local businesses and community organizations are proud sponsors of the Youth Enterprise Camp.

Youth Entrepreneurial Programs:
Head Start in Business in partnership with Community Futures Offices offers a variety of entrepreneurial programs to students in elementary schools and high schools in the region. PARO Lending Circles: The CFDC has a Letter of Understanding to support the creation of a lending circle for the region. We hosted a dinner for women leaders in the region as well as creating a socio-economic profile for women in the region.

The purpose of How We Prosper Together is a Regional Economic Development Strategic Plan that explains how, collectively, the Superior East Region and neighbouring communities and partners can work together toward a shared set of strategic goals that are backed by a solid and detailed action plan. The plan is the product of a regional partnership of communities, First Nation and non-First Nation, that includes Brunswick House First Nation, Chapleau (town), Chapleau Cree First Nation, Chapleau Ojibwe First Nation, Dubreuiville, Hornepayne, Manitouwadge, Michipicoten First Nation, Missanabie Cree First Nation, Pic Mobert First Nation, Wawa, and White River.
